Clinker kiln demolition works
In November, we will commence works for the demolition of the remainder of the clinker kiln area at our Munster site. This follows the demolition of three clinker kiln stacks and slurry bottles at the site last year. Clinker has not been manufactured at the Munster site since 2014, with the clinker kilns in care and maintenance since that time.
Demolition process
The demolition process is expected to take nine months. The project will involve the disconnection of services and the safe removal of any asbestos prior to demolition taking place. All demolition works will be undertaken in a manner to manage any noise or dust from the demolition zone.
Demolition material will be removed and transported by truck to an approved landfill or, where possible, will be recycled.
