Operating licence

Cockburn Cement operates in accordance with Department of Water and Environment Regulation (DWER) requirements under an Operating Licence.

The Operating Licence seeks to minimise emissions and impacts associated with the operation of the Munster site. The Operating Licence requires us to operate our cement and quicklime works in compliance with specified emission limits and to monitor and regularly report on environmental performance.

We are committed to ensuring that our operations continue to comply with our Operating Licence at all times, including the continuous stack emissions monitoring, testing, reporting and corrective action processes. You can learn more about air quality, or view or live monitoring feed.

In recent years, Cockburn Cement has worked with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) to investigate and understand odour concerns raised by the local communities in the Munster, Beeliar and Yangebup suburbs of the City of Cockburn.

Our team is committed to innovation and the continuous improvement of our operations. CCL is dedicated to reducing the impact on the local community and the extension allows us more time to work with DWER to trial odour reduction solutions at our Munster site.
